Bringing up Baby

I don't know about most people but the movie Bringing Up Baby is so bad. I know it is supposed to be a classic but to me it did nothing. It was a series of long takes with lots of dialogue in them. For the whole shot, Susan would just go on and on about nothing and David would stand there like an idiot and try to say something but wouldn't. All these scenes, which made up about 3/4 of the movie, did for me was make me hate both of those characters. The other two of the movies that we watched seemed to use some of the cinematic elements that we learned about in class. This movie did not. All it did was use long takes and I Think it took away from the movie.
Also the acting in the movie was not very good to me. David and Susan seemed to be characters that anyone could play. I bumbling museum worker, and a women that is so annoying and talks fast. The movie was just a boring adventure that seemed to pile on one stupid act on the next until the most was completely ridiculous

Well first of all I would like to once again say that I agree on the stupidity of this movie. It was not a good movie in any sense of the world. I do on the other hand have to disagree with a little bit of what JOhn said. First of all the think that the actor Carry Grant did a wonderful job acting because it would have been hard to have to act that well with Katherine Heappart being so annoying. Also it may not be easy to play such an annoying character as Susan. Over-all terrible.

John, I agree with you in some cases. The movie was stupid. It was frustrating. But, overall it wasnt "terrible". Towards the end the comedy was getting better and the surrounding characters were adding to the chaos. Once it became less of just david and susan talkng, I think it got better.
Overall grade of like a C from me... it was aiight

you make a valid point by saying that anyone could have played these characters. now that i think about it, i suppose the acting jobs were not too hard. Each of them played a relatively east part and not complex respectively. Katherine Hepburn, did however look quite attractive while doing so. (excuse my Dave Matyi lens there.)

Also, it was a great season and i miss it already, lets lift afterschool alot
